At this time let me say how sorry I am that I have not been around the Post the past few week. First it was due to my ill health and then to my dear wife’s. We are both on the mend rest assures that we have stayed on top of things. Our thanks to all the members and supporters for their many cards and phone calls. Also, thanks to Don Newberger for staying on top of the Post’s finances, and to Larry Siegel for taking care of the paper work. Sometimes things don’t go the way you want and I have had to make decisions that I felt were best for the Post. We will be sponsoring two baseball teams from Chamberlain High School. The cost is very high and we can only put out the required amount and nothing more.
The 2009 membership renewal notices went out and they have the wrong dues amount on them. Members are submitting them with the $30.00. Ever since last year the dues has been $35.00. Most everyone has sent in $30.00, we will be excepting this amount until the new notices go out. It would cost the Post too much to return the cards with notices. Please rush yours in and save some money.
I have been handling the hall rentals and the month of July has been very fruitful. I am looking forward to the rest of the year. Our Saturday night dances have drop off in attendance but I am working on some promotions that will get our members back in the swing of things. We will be having our installation of Officers on Sunday afternoon, August 3, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Hope we have a full house. I hope we can get this Post Script out to you early this time. From now on it will be mailed out by the 20th of the month. Come on out and join us for our Saturday night dances and some Karaoke in the Lounge. |
